Whenbattery LED turns steady blue, press and hold the F2 key. While still pressing & holding F2 key, turn the machine on. Don't let go of F2 key till the BIOS menu appears. If you previously set a supervisor password, this must be entered. In the BIOS Information tab, your HDD or SSD should be listed.

All you need is the laptop model number or the SNID (Serial Number Identification Number). When we install the BIOS firmware, it'll update the BIOS to improve its performance.
Answers Very strange that you would not be able to enter the BIOS. F12 is not enabled by default in the BIOS, you have to enable it; of course if you can't access the BIOS that presents a problem. Ifyou able to get the BIOS screen, Press the right arrow key to select Main. Use the arrow keys to navigate to F12 Boot Menu, and press ENTER. Select Enabled, and press ENTER. Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system. Install the new hard disk, plug in the bootable USB, power On the laptop, When the Acer logo appears press F12
